Joint Work party with FCC

9/14/2013

Thank you to all who contributed to the care and maintenance of FCC facilities last Saturday.  We realize the condition of this facility is an important symbol to our community that God's followers who gather there are responsible stewards of the resources God has provided.

Our brother Chuck M. from FCC, the most "senior" among us, was first to arrive and last to leave - we are thankful for his dedication and leadership!  Not only does the outdoor gathering area look much improved, the parking lot is in the best condition it could possibly be.  We took on some major projects!  We're planning to finish off our work during a second Joint Work Party October 26th.

Honoring our Students & Graduates

As a community of faith we are so thankful for days like today!  Celeste lead our Christian Education department in recongizing the accomplishments of each one of our students and graduates.  From perfect attendance awards to honor roll, what an amazing group!  Lindsay Andalis, graduating with a bachelor's degree from San Jose State, delivered an incredible testimony of how her young nieces and nephews inspire her to perservere through the challenges of college life to achieve her academic goals.  She reminded us that the pursuit of knowledge is a difficult journey but one that strengthens our faith.  We pray God's blessing will continue to be with all our students and graduates, congratulations!

Tri-City Volunteers

The love of God is certainly immeasurable. How could we ever reciprocate such compassion and grace? Experiencing such unconditional love encourages a sense of duty to use the talents He gave us and use it to do good works. Volunteering is a great way to share the abundant blessings God has provided us. Our time is valuable and it doesn't cost us anything to help others! The time we spent bagging potatoes at the Tri-City Volunteers Food Bank in Fremont may be a small gesture but it will make a big impact in the lives of many low income families, individuals and the homeless, who are receiving assistance with their weekly groceries. We are also appreciative of those that donated non-perishable items for the food bank. We look forward to sharing more of God’s love in future Mission activities!

Happy Father's Day!

Today we honored our fathers.  Celeste led the children's sermon with a thoughtful reminder that we not only have our father's and grandfather's here on earth, but we also have a Heavenly Father that loves us and supports us.  Pastor David Borglum delivered an enlightening meditation on Matthew 5:38-41, complete with audience participation, well done Kurt!  Many thanks to the FAEUCC women's fellowship for making the flower gifts.  Thanks to both churches for supplying all kinds of great food, helping to make our fellowship time even more meaningful.  Thank you to Charles for encouraging us all to remember and keep in our hearts those father's who are no longer with us.  To all the father's, we honor you today, God bless you.

If you don't think even one tree can make a difference, read about how these trees impact the local citizens:
Plant a Global Tree

Thanks to your generous donations and caring hearts, we were able to plant 23 trees across Kenya, Palestine, Ghana, and India!  God is counting on us to be stewards of his magnificent creation, let's continue to do our part.

Trash pickup @ Lake Elizabeth

4/28/2013

Every Sunday when we arrive at the Fremont Community Center to conduct our worship service we are reminded of the natural revelation that God inspires us to appreciate and care for.  Lake Elizabeth is an amazing sight to behold.  During winter and spring, the hills sparkle in emerald green, while in summer and fall the golden hills provide beautiful contrast to bright blue skies.  But Lake Elizabeth - like the rest of our earth - are not just for visually admiring.  These are places where families celebrate, teams compete, and children play.  With all this activity, it is inevitable that we will impact the environment.  As a community of faith, worshiping on these grounds, we are particularly compelled to take action and preserve this wonderful place.  Through our Mission Committee, in cooperation with Niles Discovery Church and Fremont Congregational Church, we had two very productive days cleaning up trash around Lake Elizabeth.  It is inspiring to see all the enthusiasm, from our youngest to our oldest!  Special thanks to all who took part in organizing and leading this event in addition to all who participated.

Tree Planting @ Sabercat Creek

4/20/2013

In a joint effort with Niles Discovery Church and Fremont Congregational Church, our members participated in a habitat restoration project right here in our community.  The habitat area is being planted with California native plants in hope of bringing back the endangered California Red Legged Frog.  The work area is by new walkway near the creek.  The team did lots of clean up and tree planting.  It was a gloriously sunny day at the beautiful park and we enjoyed meeting new friends and good exercise.  Most importantly, we made a contribution to preserving one of God's greatest gifts: our earth.  Many thanks to ALL who participated!
